Hakaya Misk is an event dedicated to the art of storytelling in its many forms: written, drawn, animated, and directed. It celebrates the heritage of folktales and aims to revive the oral storytelling tradition.
It was shot for the first time in Riyadh in 2016 and reached the Saudi cities of Abha, Tabouk, Jeddah, and Dhahran.
In its 2017 version, Hakaya Misk2 is going beyond Saudi and will travel to other parts of the GCC. The event will therefore widen its influence while nurturing talented youth in the Gulf region by providing them with training programmes. These programmes are created in cooperation with international bodies that specialise in writing, drawing, animation, and direction. Along with the participation of the largest media companies and social media agencies, this will indeed be an exhilarating event.
